Authorities in Germany have warned that anyone dressing as a “killer clown” to frighten people risks a year in prison as the craze spreads to the country.

Authorities have ask the police to arrest anyone who is involve in this irresponsible act “Anyone who wants to scare another person to death, as the saying goes, is not funny but a criminal," 

Dressing up as a clown to scare people is a criminal act. Anyone publishing videos of such incidents on social media could also expect a visit from the police, Mr Herrmann said.

A man was held by police in the western state of Saarland at the weekend after he terrorised passengers on a train wearing a clown mask and brandishing a knife.

After leaving the train he banged on the window where a woman and a child were sitting.

Police said the 26-year-old man, who was not named, was drunk.

A 19-year-old man is recovering from his injuries after he was attacked with a baseball bat by a man dressed as a clown in the northern city of Rostock last Thursday.

There were several sightings in the area the same day, including a man dressed as a clown wielding a chainsaw in the nearby town of Greifswald.

I will encourage every country to put  a stop to it because it not funny to see others afraid or get harm by some jokers
