The 2016/17 La Liga calendar has revealed the approximate dates of this season's matches between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, also known as El Clásico.
The first El Clasico match of the season has been set for December 4 at the Nou Camp, while the return leg at the Bernabeu will take place on the run-in until the end of the season on April 23.
The two arch-rivals will meet again at the Santiago Bernabéu in Week 33 on the weekend of 22–23 April 2017. The Catalan holiday of Sant Jordi is celebrated annually on 23 April.
Last season the games were played in the reverse order. Barça routed Real Madrid, 4–0, at the Bernabéu in the autumn, with goals from Luis Suárez (2), Neymar Jr., and Andrés Iniesta. Real Madrid won at Camp Nou, 2–1, in the spring.
